Experience

I graduated from Penn State in 2010 with a degree in religious studies as well as classic and ancient studies from Mediterranean cultures. After graduating from college, I became a caseworker for a social service agency, where I assisted the homeless population around Philadelphia. My experiences in social service taught me the importance of education and how it can be used as a tool to help struggling individuals overcome their challenges and succeed in a professional environment. Shortly after completing my employment contract, I enrolled in a graduate program at Temple University and received my master's degree in secondary social studies. I currently work as a teacher, where I'm certified in Pennsylvania to teach English and social studies to students at the middle and high school levels. Both history and English are two of my favorite subjects to teach. With history, you're able to learn about important events that happened in the world, as well as understand more about the triumphs and mistakes that people made in the past. With English, I believe that it's essential to have the proper communication skills necessary to interact with other people, as well as express our own thoughts and feelings. Outside of education, my other hobbies include reading science fiction, cooking, and going on hikes.
